TRADITIONAL HYMNS MEET CONTEMPORARY SOUNDS AT THE GEORGETOWN TEA HOUSE
Thursday, February 25, 2020. Wakefield, New York. Old time religion lives again with the adaptation of six traditional hymns sung from within the visionary space known as the Georgetown Tea House.
Simply put, the Georgetown Tea House is a weekly podcast where members of a panel engage in conversations about the Word, our reason for being and the many facets of everyday life. These discourses are embellished with inspirational music and songs of praise. Ultimately it is the hope of the creators that the Georgetown Tea House be seen as a place of emotional refuge and one where Christianity can be embraced in all its shapes and colors and celebrated.
In keeping with this vision, the producers of the Georgetown Tea House have embarked on a series of recordings where traditional hymns will be adapted for a modern audience. The first volume is titled, Lord I Want to be a Christian and features the voice of Ma’cell of Slaves of the Rhythm. Ma’cell delivers a set that abounds with faith, joy, and a yearning for a oneness with God. The songs on this EP are:
LORD IN THE MORNING THOU SHALT HEAR
WHEN MORNING GILDS THE SKIES
GIVE ME THE BIBLE
I HAVE A FRIEND SO PRECIOUS (MY LORD AND I)
LORD I WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN
I WANT TO MEET MY JESUS SOMEDAY
The EP will be available at the slavesoftherhythm.com site and on I-tunes and other digital platforms.
LORD I WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN offers a distinct blend of Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Trap and R & B and is sure the touch the hearts and soul of believers and non-believers alike.
